URŠKA MEDVED

​

Urška Medved is a profesional artist wirking in the intersection of perfromance, textile, instalation and video art. She comes from Slovenia, works internationally and is based in Sweden. 

​

She conducted her formal education at Secondary school Kranj and finished her bachelor’s degree in February 2021 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the department of Fashion and textile design. Her diploma work “Textile objects and performative arts” was awarded a faculty award of outstanding achievements. In 2016 she attend an internship in the field of contemporary dance pedagogy in India where she spent 2 months teaching young kids at RYAN International School. Later she attended an ERASMUS Exchange (2018) at the university of Gothenburg at the department of Textil – Body - Space. During her stay in Sweden, she won Olga Birgfelts Konstpris for young artist in Bengsforsh. She continoued her education on Master's level at the University of Gothenburg at the program Contemporary Perfromative Arts and finished it in 2025.

She is currently exploring the connection between performance, body and textile art, questioning the importance of presence, space and time.
